About The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council Internet Reporting System

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council Internet Reporting System produces the following reports:

The Uniform Bank Performance Report

The Uniform Bank Performance Report (UBPR) is an analytical tool created for bank supervisory, examination, and management purposes. In a concise format, it shows the impact of management decisions and economic conditions on a bank's performance and balance sheet composition. The performance and composition data contained in the report can be used as an aid in evaluating the adequacy of earnings, liquidity, capital, asset and liability management, and growth management. Individuals can use this report to further their understanding of a bank's financial condition.

A UBPR is produced for each commercial bank in the United States that is supervised by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. UBPRs are produced for FDIC insured savings banks also. The report is computer generated from a data base derived from public sources. It contains several years worth of data, which are updated quarterly. Those data are presented in the form of ratios, percentages, and dollar amounts computed mainly from Reports of Condition and Income submitted by the bank. Each UBPR also contains corresponding average data for the bank's peer group and percentile rankings for most ratios. The UBPR therefore permits evaluation of a bank's current condition, trends in its financial performance, and comparisons with the performance of its peer group.

In addition to the individual bank report, the following is also available:

The Call and Thrift Financial Reports

These reports provide detailed public regulatory financial information for all FDIC insured institutions. Users can retrieve facsimiles of the quarterly financial reports filed by financial institutions for each quarter beginning with the March, 1998 Report. These reports will be updated quarterly.

Every National Bank, State Member Bank and insured Nonmember Bank is required by the Federal Financial Institution Examination Council (FFIEC) to file a consolidated Reports of Condition and Income (Call Report) as of the close of business on the last day of each calendar quarter, i.e. the report date. The specific reporting requirements depend upon the size of the bank and whether or not it has any foreign offices. Call Report instructions and forms can be obtained from the Call Report Instructions and Forms web site: http://www.fdic.gov/banknews/callrept/.

Every federally insured savings institution regulated by the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) files a Thrift Financial Report (TFR) on a quarterly basis. These institutions are required to file a consolidated TFR as of the close of business on the last day of each calendar quarter, i.e. the report date. Thrift Financial Report instructions and forms can be obtained from the OTS' web site: http://www.ots.treas.gov/tfrpage.html.

The Call Report and TFR data are displayed as reported to the agencies for the date shown on the Search Page and is updated at approximately 60 days and 150 days after the end of the calendar quarter for the reporting period.
